  • The Iodometric Method.  This is the most reliable way to determine the quantity of dissolve oxygen in water, whether this be a waste water or natural water. By analyzing the dissolved oxygen in a certain body of water, it will be easier for people to determine how polluted that water is. Temperature is an important factor in sample collection because dissolved oxygen is dependent to temperature.
  • The Chloride Ion Concentration by Titration. This is also known as the Mohr’s Method. This is important in knowing the chloride ion concentration in relation with clean water. The chemical reaction between chloride molecules and silver nitrate in water is an important part in this type of analysis. The pH of the water sample is also very important for this method.
  • The Colorimetric Phosphate Determination. In this method small amounts of phosphates are placed to some supplies of water. Ammonium molybdate reagent and spectrophotometer are also used in this method.
